TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - For the ninth time since April, authorities are investigating a violent attack connected to Sun Tran.

The Tucson Police Department said an elderly man was assaulted at the Sun Tran bus stop at the intersection of Pantano and Stella on Monday, Oct. 6.

The TPD said several bystanders stopped to help the victim, who was bleeding from his face. The suspect was taken into custody by officers, but has not been identified.

The TPD said the investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

There have been eight other violent attacks connected to Sun Tran since April. In fact, the bus drivers’ union held a news conference on Monday, demanding immediate safety improvements.
