TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - New recommendations adopted by the CDC have given the green light for everyone over six months old to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

More vaccines are being shipped to doctors, clinics, and other providers. It’s a decision that was expected weeks ago.

Now, the Pima County Health Department can start putting in orders for its federally funded vaccinations.

“We’ve been using our private inventories to kind of bridge this gap, so hopefully this will fill in some of those gaps for us and give us some better inventory,” said the department’s Crystal Rambaud.

Officials said they’re going through more supplies than they can keep up with, and the new vaccines are there to help some of the community’s most vulnerable.
