LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) - Nebraska defensive back DeShon Singleton earned a pair of honors on Monday, as he was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and was recognized as the East-West Shrine Bowl’s “Breakout Defensive Player of the Week.”
Singleton keyed Nebraska’s win over Michigan State, totaling six tackles and a pair of interceptions in the Huskers’ 38-27 win. The two interceptions were a career high for the senior and the first time a Husker had multiple interceptions in a game since 2023. The last Husker to earn Big Ten Defensive weekly honors was JoJo Domann in 2021.
