BOSTON — Just because the Bruins will begin their 2025-26 season without a captain doesn’t mean the team is lacking leadership.

In fact, their leadership core is something management feels confident in.

“They formed their leadership group,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said Monday. “Moving forward, they’ll acknowledge who the third person who will wear the A will be. They’re not concerned about the captaincy part of things. They’re only concerned about the leadership and them coming together as a group. ... So we’re moving in the right directions in all those areas.”

David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy will continue to wear the ‘A’ throughout the season, while Hampus Lindholm could don the third ‘A’ as a longer-tenured player who logs considerable ice time.
