MOUNT PLEASANT — Weekend tournaments are much more about how you finish, rather than how you start.
On Saturday, the Ludington girls varsity volleyball team proved that point in Mount Pleasant at the Oiler Invite, a 16-team tournament.
Despite opening with back-to-back losses, the Orioles tallied with three-straight wins to reach the finals. However, they couldn’t get past Greenville, falling 1-2 (25-16, 16-25, 10-15).
Ludington is now 18-13-3 overall on the season.
The Orioles opened tournament pool play against Mason, losing 0-2, (18-25, 21-25). They then fell to the host, Mount Pleasant, 0-2 (14-25, 9-25).
Against Bay City John Glenn, Ludington found its footing in 2-0 (25-20, 25-20) win.
