Bengaluru, Oct 7: The state government has extended the duration of the Social and Educational Survey, widely known as the Caste Census, as the process could not be completed within the earlier deadline.

The Education Department on Monday issued an order revising school timings across the state since a large number of school teachers have been deputed to assist in the survey work.

The caste census, which began on September 22, was initially scheduled to conclude by October 7. However, the government decided to extend the survey deadline to ensure complete and accurate data collection.

According to the revised schedule, the survey in the Greater Bengaluru region will continue until October 24, while in other parts of the state, it has been extended
