DENTON COUNTY, Texas — A woman has been arrested on arson charges in connection with an August fire that destroyed three homes in unincorporated Denton County.

Ryan Seitz and Crystal Jones were inside their home when the fire started at about 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025.

"We heard a kaboom and I walked around, and I saw the fire was higher than the roof," Seitz said. "It was so fast. It's like this. So fast."

The couple barely escaped with their lives, with no time to grab belongings. Their four kittens did not survive.

"It's been very hard. They trusted us, we were all they knew, and I couldn't find them," Jones said.

Standing in the ruins of what was once their living room, Sietz can now see through the charred remains.
