WILLCOX, Ariz. (KVOA) - A multi-agency DUI task force, led by the Willcox Police Department, successfully ensured public safety during the Rex Allen Days celebration on Oct. 3 to Oct. 4.
The operation, which involved several local law enforcement agencies, resulted in 43 traffic stops and four DUI arrests. Notably, two of these were classified as Aggravated DUI, with one involving a child passenger.
According to a news release, a significant incident occurred when a driver attempted a "burnout" near the parade route, nearly striking spectators. The driver, found to be impaired, was taken into custody after refusing to exit the vehicle voluntarily.
