TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A Tucson man is recovering after being stabbed multiple times on a Greyhound bus heading to Tucson.

The victim, Jorge Quintanilla Zamorano said he’s grateful to be alive more than a week after the attack. The 24 year-old told News 4 Tucson the man responsible for the random assault is behind bars.

"I suddenly saw a person on top of me, at the time I thought it was a black pen jabbing at my throat," Zamorano.

The attack happened last Monday afternoon while the bus was traveling between Deming and Lordsburg, New Mexico, he said. Zamorano was on his way to Tucson when a man sitting across the aisle began stabbing him.

"I looked down and it was like a waterfall of blood that just came down my shirt and the jacket that I was wearing," Zamorano said.
