PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) -- An investigation is underway in Plainville after some residents said the town's plans regarding the Tilcon rock quarry were changed without their knowledge.

Some Plainville residents, including the town attorney, said the town's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), which is a ten-year plan for the town's land use, has been changed without a public hearing.

One of the aspects of the plan that has been changed is regarding the Tilcon Quarry. Georgia Bedell, who lives near the quarry, has concerns about the project's effect on the local air and water quality.

"They are now calling for quarry expansion where the POCD specifically said we should not expand the quarry," Bedell said.
