GREENWOOD, Ind. — For Mayor Mark Myers, the City of Greenwood is more than just a job, it’s a sense of family that’s only getting bigger.
“It’s kind of crazy because my dad was the mayor in 1976,” Myers said. “We had 12,000 people. Now, we’re at about 70,000 people.”
Myers said that, over the years, Greenwood has become a desirable place for people to call home. A lot of that growth can be attributed to the opportunities people have through parks and recreation — an area the city has been focused on for several years.
“The parks, our parks are just top notch," Myers said. "Might put them up against any park in the State of Indiana."
