COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs has seen several crashes in the last few weeks.
Police told 11 News many of them are due to drivers being in a hurry or not paying attention.
“People don’t realize that even just simply looking down for a second or two, you are traveling a long distance faster than you think you are,” Caitlin Ford Blanco with CSPD said.
Friday, police said a stalled vehicle led to multiple crashes involving 12 cars, shutting down two northbound lanes near Barnes.
A driver involved told 11 News it’s sometimes hard to see up the street with so many cars on the road, and that the area was crowded.
“All of a sudden, everybody just slammed on their brakes, and traffic was kind of medium, so people were going slower than the speed limit
