PAGE, Ariz. — A bear found close to an elementary school in Page has been captured and safely relocated, according to authorities.
The Page Police Department posted about the bear's capture on its Facebook page on Oct. 4.
The animal was spotted over the weekend in a tree at Lake View Elementary School.
Police asked everyone in the area to stay inside and keep their pets inside until experts could be called in to capture the bear.
Wildlife officers with AZ Game and Fish came out to Page to look for the bear.
At around 5 p.m., they were able to tranquilize the bear and then load it into a crate to relocate it.
"Our Lake View bear was captured by Game and Fish, and most importantly, was not injured during the rescue effort," the police department posted on Facebook.
Police said the
