A 21-year-old woman has been flown to hospital after being found a full day after she disappeared in a Queensland cane growing region.
Tara Rawnsley last contacted her family about 2.15pm on Monday from Upper Haughton, in North Queensland, but was not seen nor heard from for hours, prompting police to launch a large-scale search.
Her mother believed she was travelling along the Haughton River, near Bill Britt Road, as shown on her daughter’s Snapchat account through its location feature.
Police and SES workers launched their search and rescue operation on Tuesday morning.
A police helicopter provided assistance from the air.
Police made a public appeal for assistance, describing Tara as Caucasian, about 175cm tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.
