LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Husker fans are often referred to as the best fans in the country due to their commitment to supporting the team.

But many are choosing to watch Nebraska’s first true road game from home.

“Traveling that far is expensive,” said UNL student and Husker fan, Ty Skalka.

Dozens of people around downtown Lincoln gave similar reasons for not going to the game, which is five days away.

According to Tripadvisor.com, it could cost between $185 to $260 for a one night stay at a hotel in the College Park, Maryland, where the game will be played.

A round-trip flight out of Omaha’s Eppley Airport would run you closer to $600.

Due to no direct flights out of Lincoln Airport, you would also have to add the costs of getting to Omaha as well.
