MEMPHIS, Tenn. - It is now Day 7 of the government shutdown. Crucial programs, like SNAP benefits, could run out of funding by the end of this month. Many people in the Mid-South rely on SNAP benefits to provide food for their families.
A loss in benefits could force more people to rely on the Mid-South Food Bank for food. Nicole Willis, the Communications and Volunteer Services Manager with the Mid-South Food Bank, told FOX13 workers are preparing for the increase in demand for help.
"Mostly what we will see in the right now is we'll see more probably federal people in line," said Willis.
Could the shutdown impact the food bank financially? Willis told FOX13 that is something the organization is monitoring.
"As the day changes, we get new updates to talk about what it, how exactly it
