A De Pere man is creating a new gambling recovery group to offer more support for people facing a gambling problem in the Green Bay area.

Timothy Nilsson said he decided to start The Gambling Recovery Group at the start of September as another place for support for people with a gambling addiction. The group will hold its first "meet and greet" on Oct. 11.

"I saw addictions from young people to middle-aged people to elderly people," said Nilsson, who said he was part of Gamblers Anonymous for 14 years. "I've witnessed countless families who have been devastated from this just in this area."
