2New York, NY – Two off-duty members of the New York City Police Department were arrested Monday in unrelated cases hours apart, according to police officials.

Authorities said the first arrest occurred at approximately 5:41 p.m. within the 116th Precinct in Queens, where 38-year-old NYPD Detective Joseph Torres was taken into custody. Torres was charged with menacing, aggravated harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Just over four hours later, at 9:27 p.m., officers in the 47th Precinct in the Bronx arrested 25-year-old Police Officer Lashanna Daley. She was charged with assault.

The NYPD confirmed both arrests but did not immediately release details about the underlying events that led to the charges.
