SHREVEPORT, La. - It’s the fastest-growing sport in America, but before Caddo Parish builds a new pickleball complex in southeast Shreveport, commissioners on Monday gave public its clearest look yet at how the idea could move from concept to construction.
But commissioners want residents to know: no votes, no approvals -- at least not yet.
The commission's Economic Development Committee meeting was purely informational, opening with clarification from Caddo Parish Commissioner Greg Young.
"The purpose of this agenda item in regard to the Pickleball Project is information only. We’re not here today to make any recommendations. We’re here to receive information, to get better informed as a commission, and to better inform the public as to where we are in the process.”
