An addiction specialist has shared the warning signs to look out for regarding one drug which has increased deaths twentyfold since 2014.
Deaths due to illicit ketamine have hiked in recent years, with 696 recorded deaths with detections of the drug between 1999 and 2024.
The drug has been glamourised by some online communities who have focused in on the hallucinogenic effects of the narcotic.
Brooks Lape, addiction expert and founder of Start Your Recovery , said: "Parents think ketamine is just another party drug their kids might experiment with, but what they don't realise is that this generation is using ketamine differently, and more dangerously, than ever before.
"The warning signs look different, the risks are higher, and the window for intervention is shorter.
