ESPN have emphatically denied reports veteran analyst Paul Finebaum has been benched by the network.

The college football insider recently declared he is thinking of running for the U.S. Senate.

Finebaum regularly appears on ESPN shows including First Take and SportsCenter.

But reports suggested he has been removed from ESPN programming after indicating he wanted to stand as a Republican candidate in Alabama.

Outkick’s Clay Travis claimed on X that "Disney/ESPN has removed [Finebaum] from appearing on ESPN."

"[It comes after an] interview expressing interest in running as a Republican for senate in Alabama," Travis added .

"ESPN has canceled all network appearances on all shows, including some that have occurred for a decade plus."
