ANN ARBOR, MI — Tree Town is moving forward with its next big round of tree plantings.
The Ann Arbor City Council voted unanimously Monday night, Oct. 6, to approve a roughly $476,000 contract with the Margolis Nursery to plant 1,000 trees along city streets.
They will be planted this fall and next spring in areas identified in the city’s 2025-26 tree planting plan, including just north of downtown and several other neighborhoods throughout the city highlighted in pink on the map.
The contract with Margolis includes an extra $47,643 contingency fund and covers supplemental watering and a one-year guarantee. See the types of trees being planted.
The new plantings will help achieve tree canopy targets identified in the city’s Urban and Community Forest Management Plan, Robert West, publ
