A teenager has been sentenced to a minimum of 18 years in prison for the murder of a North East dad. Jack Lawson fatally stabbed Craig Yorke three times during an incident in Eldon Lane, near Bishop Auckland, in the early hours of December 14, last year.

After a seven-week trial at Teesside Crown Court , the 18-year-old was found guilty of murder earlier this year. The sentence handed down takes into account time already served.

Despite the valiant efforts of emergency services and bystanders, Mr Yorke succumbed to his injuries. In the aftermath of the attack, five individuals were arrested and charged with murder.
