Some of the world's best hair stylists will be training students in Darlington after their college became a centre of excellence, the only one in the North. Darlington College’s head of service industries Maria Harrop revealed the Centre of Excellence plaque with Fellowship of British Hairdressing president Ashleigh Hodges.

Darlington College’s Elements hair and beauty salon, created to give the next generation of stylists the most realistic experience as they train, has been given the accolade thanks to a collaboration with the Fellowship of British Hairdressing. Students were given the first taste of the prestigious status at an official college launch attended by industry experts including Fellowship president Ashleigh Hodges.
