A Middlesbrough man who beat and neglected two emaciated Staffordshire Bull Terriers admitted he felt “nothing but hatred towards them". Ashleigh Hinde, 22, of South Court in South Bank , was also banned from keeping animals for 15 years following an investigation and prosecution by the RSPCA.

Four female puppies, who were the offspring of one of the dogs, were also found at his property lying in their own faeces in a crate without food or water. Hinde was sentenced at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 23, after previously pleading guilty to two offences contrary to the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
