ZAMBIA – A 42-year-old woman from Lusaka’s Garden Compound has been left heartbroken after her husband of 24 years ended their marriage over a dream.

Charles Sakala, 44, claimed he repeatedly dreamt that his wife, Mirriam Banda, was cheating on him, and said the visions were too vivid to ignore.

Despite no real evidence of infidelity, Sakala took the dreams seriously and abruptly left their home, abandoning his wife and three children for six months.

When he returned, it wasn’t to reconcile, but to demand a divorce, accusing Banda of being involved with a man who had shown interest in her at the spice shop where she works. Banda told the Matero Local Court that her husband began changing after buying a car, and soon started entertaining other women.
