GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Grand Rapids police have identified a 17-year-old boy shot and killed while he attended a memorial event or another teen killed in 2024.
Police identified Niles Murray as the victim of the Oct. 4 shooting at Umatilla Street and Madison Avenue SE.
The shooting location was just feet from where 15-year-old Amillier Penn was shot and killed in June 2024.
Grand Rapids police Chief Eric Winstrom earlier said Murray was attending a memorial event in honor of Penn’s birthday when he was shot.
