An Eastpointe man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl and fleeing to New York has been charged, officials said.
Andrew Logan Williams, 52, was officially arraigned Monday in 38th District Court in Eastpointe, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said. His arraignment follows a hearing held Saturday at the Macomb County Jail, during which the charges against him were read, officials said.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a life felony, kidnapping, also a life felony, and child sexually abusive activity, a 20-year felony.
A judge ordered Williams held without bond and scheduled his next court hearing for Oct. 15.
Court records did not list an attorney for the defendant on Tuesday and said he has requested a judge to appoint one to repr
