WASHINGTON — National Taco Day is officially here, giving taco lovers a lot more to celebrate this Taco Tuesday.

The foodie holiday is celebrated on the first Tuesday in October, but it wasn't always this way.

has historically been celebrated on Oct. 4, a date that rarely coincides with Taco Tuesday. In September 2024, Taco Bell and National Day Calendar officially moved the taco-themed day to the first Tuesday in October. The change came after Taco John relinquished trademark over "Taco Tuesday" in 2023 following a trademark dispute.
