HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) announced that its universities have seen increased enrollment, set retention records, and seen a surge in community college transfers.

PASSHE says they have just recorded their first systemwide increase in more than a decade, with Fall 2025 enrollment climbing to 83,000 students, which is a 0.6% increase across all 10 of its universities.

Additionally, PASSHE reports that student retention, which measures the percentage of students who return for their second year, has reached its highest point on record, with 81%.

Students who transferred from a Pennsylvania community college to a PASSHE University have increased by 14.3%.
