MASON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The calendar now reads October, meaning one area amusement park is ready to scare like never before.
Kings Island's Halloween Haunt is in full swing, so we at 2 NEWS decided to take a trip to the park and get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into the scares.
Speaking with one scare actor, Red Distad, the mindset of a scare actor takes some molding to get into character.
"I'm the thing that lurks in the dark, and I have to kind of view the customers as my prey," said Distad. "It's almost a different personality, like the mentality I have to get into, it's very much like being a hunter."
Scaring is not a thoughtless task for these actors either, as their awareness of the environment plays into the part as well.
