Coweta County’s top planning and engineering departments will see new leadership following a series of internal promotions involving three of the county’s longest-serving employees.
Jon Amason, who has led Community Development for the past seven years, will return to his engineering background as the new Division Director of Engineering in Public Works.
Amason joined the county in 2008 as an engineering assistant and advanced through the ranks to senior engineer before being appointed Community Development director. During his tenure, he oversaw a major departmental reorganization that brought Development Review, Planning and Zoning, Comprehensive Planning, Code Enforcement, and Business and Alcohol Licensing under one umbrella.
