PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A major microelectronics conference historically held in Silicon Valley is being hosted in the Valley of the Sun this year, showing how Arizona continues to grow in the semiconductor industry.
After being held in San Francisco for decades, SEMICON West, a well-known microelectronics conference, is being held at the Phoenix Convention Center from Tuesday through Thursday.
Phoenix will now play host to the event on a rotating basis, with it scheduled to return to the Valley of the Sun in 2027 and 2029.
The conference is expected to attract more than 35,000 attendees, making it the most attended SEMICON West to date, according to the City of Phoenix. It is expected to generate millions of dollars in tourism revenue for the local economy.
