French point guard Thomas Heurtel has launched legal action against FC Barcelona, seeking €1.6 million in damages following a transfer that fell apart unexpectedly, according to RAC1 and Mundo Deportivo .

The experienced player claims the failed move left him in a difficult position, having already declined another lucrative offer from ASVEL.

Heurtel says that negotiations with Barcelona forced him to turn down alternative opportunities, and when the deal ultimately collapsed, he was left without a team and feeling misled.

Barcelona, for its part, insists that there is no signed contract or document supporting Heurtel’s claim. The case is now set to proceed through the courts, with a hearing expected in the near future.
