Gran Canaria recorded an impressive victory in the first round of the Basketball Champions League, as they dominated Benfica with a score of 98-61.

On the opening day of the competition in the new season, there were a few really convincing wins, but none came close to what Jaka Lakovic’s team achieved in Lisbon.

The newcomers were brilliant for Gran Canaria, with Isaiah Wong finishing the match with 16 points, Brian Angola adding 12, and Kur Kuath scoring 11 points. The Slovenian coach can also be pleased with the fact that all 12 players scored in this duel. On the other side, the only noteworthy player for the Portuguese club was Koby McEwan with 17 points.
