ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Canton man has been found guilty of multiple sex crimes against a child.

On Friday, Antonio Eliberto Lopez-Peren, 50, was convicted of rape, child molestation and two counts of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, according to the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, which covers Cherokee County.

Canton police began investigating Lopez-Peren in April 2024 after a girl told a friend that he had sexually abused her.

The child said during a forensic interview that Lopez-Peren abused her over a five-month period, according to prosecutors.
