CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Alcohol permits have been pulled from an Uptown nightclub after two deadly shootings in less than three months happened nearby.

Officials say operators of Brooklyn Lounge voluntarily surrendered their alcohol permits.

Neighbors say they welcome the change.

Up until recently, Zach Freysinger and his dog Lucy haven’t had to worry about much.

“It’s a very residential area, we have apartments here, apartments there, apartments down the street,” said Freysinger.

He lives uptown off North Caldwell Street, near a daycare and the library, and something else that’s making a lot of noise lately.
