COMMERCIAL breaks will no longer skyrocket to a louder volume level in one US state.
A brand new law is cracking down on noise for streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video.
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the new legislation on Monday.
Starting July 2026, ads will be required to play at the same volume as whatever was already playing on the provider's platform.
"We heard Californians loud and clear, and what’s clear is that they don’t want commercials at a volume any louder than the level at which they were previously enjoying a program," Newsom said.
The crackdown comes after a complaint from new parents made its way all the way up to California lawmakers.
