BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - October marks Foster Youth Voice Month across the United States, and child welfare leaders in Bowling Green say the message of highlighting those in need hits close to home.

The month-long observance aims to shed light on the foster care system and give a voice to the children who are part of it. It also highlights the current shortage of foster parents, which can often leave adolescents in need without the support they require.
