A 61-year-old Chinese national with ties to Macomb County was sentenced to 3-⅓ to 20 years in prison for operating commercial sex operations last year at illicit massage parlors in Wayne County.

Huazi Piao, who was also accused of operating parlors in Sterling Heights and St. Clair Shores, received the sentence Tuesday from Wayne County Circuit Judge Tracy Green in Detroit following Piao’s plea last month to operating a criminal enterprise, aka racketeering.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dismissed other charges, including accepting earnings from prostitution, a 20-year felony, and keeping a house of prostitution, a 5-year felony, according to court records.
