MENTOR, Ohio — A 4-year-old girl and her mother were injured Saturday afternoon when a dog attacked them at a home on Rushton Drive, police said.
Mentor police and fire rescue crews responded to 8150 Rushton Drive around 1:31 p.m. after receiving a report of the attack, according to city officials.
The child was taken to University Hospital Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital because of the severity of her injuries. Her mother was also bitten.
The Mentor Police Department is investigating the case with the Lake County Dog Warden to determine whether criminal charges will be filed. The dog is being quarantined as required by law, police said.
No additional information has been released, including the condition of the victims.
