DULUTH — Amber Michele Rose Walker went to court Tuesday, intending to plead guilty to aiding the alleged killer of Cody Thomas Telega.

But the hearing abruptly ended with Judge Jessica Fralich rejecting the plea and ordering the case to move forward, ruling that Walker’s testimony did not meet the legal criteria for the crime.

“I can’t accept the plea,” Fralich said. “That requires facts that I have not heard today, and I can’t accept a plea from somebody who hasn’t done anything wrong or isn’t going to take responsibility for their actions.”

Walker, 41, of Minneapolis, testified that she drove Antonio Duryea Hendon to and from the crime scene in Duluth’s Central Hillside neighborhood, but maintained that she never had any knowledge of the killing until after they were arrested.
