SEATTLE - Unionized Starbucks employees gathered outside the company's headquarters to protest recent mass layoffs.
They expressed their frustration over the closure of more than two dozen stores in Washington, resulting in the layoff of 900 workers.
Protestors stated that the laid-off workers were not given the opportunity to transfer to other stores during the closure process.
In the Spokane area, three Starbucks locations have shut down. These include the stores on Hamilton, Division and Newport Highway.
In Yakima, two stores have closed. One was located on First Street and Nob Hill, while the second was downtown on Yakima Avenue.
