SPRINGBORO, Ohio — The ending may have been anticlimactic, but the memories should prove to be lasting for Van Buren senior Addyson Adams.
During what was her fourth appearance at the state girls golf tournament, Adams turned in a career-best eighth-place finish to earn first-team all-state honors. The originally scheduled two-day event that began Monday at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro was canceled during the second day of competition Tuesday because of rainy conditions and predicted afternoon thunderstorms.
During the opening round, Adams recorded a 75 as Gahanna Columbus Academy junior Eva Lim shot 70 to win the title.
Most competitors during the early tee times Tuesday got in a couple holes before play was stopped.
“It was incredible making first-team all-Ohio,” Adams said.
