RELATED — Shelby Co. Republicans say Memphis Safe Task Force restoring law and order as Week 2 begins

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Safe Task Force conducted 321 arrests in the first seven days of its operation, the U.S. Department of Justice reported Monday.

The DOJ offered some insight into the reasons behind these arrests, although 16% of them have been labeled as “other” without further elaboration.

In the first week of operation, beginning September 29, the 20 local, state and federal agencies that are involved in this crime-fighting operation successfully apprehended 181 warrant fugitives in total. The DOJ says 82 (or 45%) of these warrant pickups were ICE arrests.
