FARMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Farmington Community Fire Protection District was one of several fire departments that responded to a fire in a bean field on Tuesday.
Fire crews responded to the fire around 3:43 p.m. on Knox Highway 22, about a mile north of Illinois Route 116, a Farmington Community Fire Protection District Facebook post said.
Due to dry conditions, multiple other fire crews were called in to help prevent the fire from spreading, including Copperas Creek, Elmwood, Yates City, Logan-Trivoli and Fairview Fire Departments.
The fire was extinguished in about an hour.
No injuries or total damage amounts were reported at this time.
