SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — One woman who was already incarcerated is charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility and criminal conspiracy after an "incident' in the Sevier County Jail on Tuesday, according to Tyler Basler, a spokesperson for the county.
Basler said staff at the jail responded to a "medical situation" involving in-custody women after seeing unusual behavior and a gathering inside one of the housing units.
"Upon further observation, correctional officers determined that some were exhibiting signs consistent with possible drug exposure," Basler said.
According to Basler, emergency medical assistance was requested, and all "potentially affected individuals" were sent to a medical facility for treatment. Basler said that the condition of everyone involved was re
