CINCINNATI —

A Winton Hills mother has been indicted on 18 charges after she was accused of causing serious injuries to her two young children.

Court records allege Daisha Phillips, 28, bound her 4-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter by their wrists with rope and then pushed them down stairs. Advertisement

Investigators also said Phillips beat her daughter with a belt, causing her to be hospitalized.

A social worker with Hamilton County Job and Family Services told police that Phillips admitted she caused the injuries to the children, saying it was “normal discipline.”

Phillips has been charged with felonious assault, endangering children, domestic violence and abduction. She is due back in court on Thursday.
