Police have charged three men with the torture and murder of Brisbane father Andrew Burow following a complex investigation that involved eight crime scenes across south-east Queensland.

The trio - a 38-year-old from Sippy Downs, 26-year-old from North Lakes, and a 57-year-old from Buderim - have also been charged with kidnapping, extortion and misconduct with a corpse.

All three are expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Police will allege it was a targeted attack, and that Mr Burow and the 26-year-old from North Lakes were known to each other.

They believe the IT and cybersecurity specialist from Kelvin Grove endured a three to four-day ordeal which began after meeting with the accused on August 21.
