Brunswick stew — a fundraising staple in Southside — coupled with a car show and music, is part of a full day of activities planned Saturday for the Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity.

Known as the Cruzin’ for Humanity Car/Bike Show and Brunswick Stew Celebration, it’ll run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Habitat ReStore, located at 2805 Riverside Drive in Danville.

It’s now a yearly fundraiser for the local nonprofit housing organization. Last year, the stew sold out by 11:30 a.m.

This year, Mama Possums will prepare the stew as classic cars and motorcycles roar into the parking lot, inviting anyone who enjoys examining the often-restored vehicles.
